Philip Shorey and the Curse of the Vampire Orchestra - October 26, 2022
Local musician Philip Shorey composed music to accompany the 100-year-old silent vampire film, Nosferatu, and has been taking it around the world with different orchestras - this year in Minneapolis, his own 50-piece Curse of the Vampire Orchestra will perform the score with a screening of the film Friday, October 28 (2022) at the Skyway Theater - one night only! Maygen and Noah of Maygen and the Birdwatcher came to our studios August 10 for an early morning session in anticipation of their performance at the Minnesota Bluegrass and Old Time Music Association's August Fest, scheduled for the 11th through the 14th in Richmond, Minnesota. Maygen and the Birdwatcher were set to play 6:30pm August 11 at the underground stage.

Soul Brother Number … One? April 2014
Before Paul and Mark started Poetry, Science and Wrestling, they did a radio program on KFAI called The Morning Blend - here's an interview from those days, with Dale Connelly introducing Paul Brohaugh who was speaking with the wrestler Soul Brother Number One about an upcoming match in April, 2014. We don't know how it turned out, and unfortunately, our tape cuts out just before Mississippi Mad Man joined the conversation to further harass Mr. Soul Brother.
Ice, Pancakes and Bigfoot - Spring 2015
About 250,000 people visit Minnesota's Boundary Water Canoe Area every summer. But if you go before May 1, you pretty much have the place to yourself, providing you don't mind battling ice on the lakes and keeping an eye open for Bigfoot. KFAI’s Paul Brohaugh brought his family — and his guitar — up north and filed this report.
Wang Ping - September 2020
Wang Ping studied at Beijing University before moving to New York in 1985, where she fell into poetry. Her new collection, "My Name Is Immigrant", deals with her personal and spiritual interaction with other migrants and some of their tragic stories. Wang Ping read a few poems and spoke with KFAI's Paul Brohaugh in September of 2020 about what this means, and what is the purpose of poetry.
